One-time foam hiking shoes EVA midsole (EVA: Ethylene Vinyl Acetate vinyl acetate copolymer)
Lightweight and elastic chemical synthetic material. The most commonly used material for the midsoles of hiking shoes is what we often call one-time foaming.
The advantages are: light, elastic, flexible, not easy to wrinkle, has excellent colorability, and is suitable for various climates.
The disadvantages are: easy to absorb water, not easy to corrode, not environmentally friendly, and easy to get dirty. The compression resistance is slightly worse and the resilience is slightly worse.
PHYLON (EVA secondary high-pressure molded product)
In recent years, it has become more common in hiking shoes, also called secondary foam, commonly known as flying dragon.
The advantages are: light weight, good elasticity, fine appearance, good softness, easy to clean, good hardness, density, tensile strength, tearing and elongation.
The disadvantages are: it is not easy to corrode and is not environmentally friendly, and it is easy to wrinkle and shrink at high temperatures.
In addition to the above three, there is also a midsole material: CMEVA, which is relatively rare.
The difference between EVA, PHYLON and PU materials
1. The biggest feature of PHYLON is that it is light, elastic and has good cushioning performance. The EVA midsole is also very light, but the cushioning performance and elasticity are far inferior to that of the PHYLON midsole.
2. PHYLON is foamed twice, while EVA is foamed once, so the cost of PHYLON is much higher than that of EVA.
3. Steel balls of the same weight fall on different PHYLON and EVA from the same height. The rebound height of the steel balls falling on the injected PHYLON is much higher than that of other materials.
